Ann Haase

Ann Julie Naggs Robb Haase of Hot Springs Village passed peacefully December 18, 2021 with her daughter, Sarah and husband, Don by her side. Ann was born in Keokuk, Iowa on January 27, 1936 to the late Jamie Oswald Naggs, A farmer and Agricultural Extension Agent, and Bernice McKenzie Naggs, a homemaker.

Ann graduated first in her class of twenty from Lancaster Mo High School where she played basketball all four years. She attended The University of Missouri earning a B.S. in Education (Vocational Home Economics) and a Masters in Clothing and Textiles.

Ann married Charles Robb in 1957 and raised two children, Scott and Sarah. In 1968, the family moved to Ft Worth, Texas. As Ann was fond of saying, she served time in Texas (21 years) before finally finding home in the woods of Arkansas. She loved her time as tour guide at the Fordyce Bath House In Hot Springs where she shared history and lore with the tourists.

The Ouachita Mountain Hikers fulfilled a need for being in close touch with the natural world. Ann met her second husband, Don Haase, while hiking and together they explored nearly all the trails in Arkansas. They then turned westward and hiked most of the National Parks and Monuments wets of their home. Some of their favorite places included Chaco Canyon and especially Glacier National Park, where they ate thimbleberries and gloried in the best kept secrets of red rocks and grizzly bears.

Soul searching led Ann and Don to Christ of the Hills United Methodist Church where they served as Stephen Ministers- a good role for caring people persons with an inner glow from God. Later in their spiritual journeys they joined the Unitarian Universalist Church in the Village.

Ann leaves good memories and a zillion stories for her husband, Don; daughter in-law, Patricia (widow of her son, Scott); dear grandson, Bryan Robb of Arlington , Texas; and daughter Sarah and her husband, Michael Hill of Fort Worth.

A private service was held for the immediate family. A remembrance service will be held at a later date.
