Dorothy Annamay Mccue

Dorothy Annamay Dopp McCue, passed away on her 101st Birthday (5/1/2024) at Methodist Richardson Medical Center in Richardson, Texas. She was born on 5/1/1923 in Pittsburgh, PA to Joseph Leopold and Lillian Cicelia Dopp.

Dorothy grew up in Pittsburgh, PA. She graduated from Saint Benedict’s Academy in Pittsburgh in 1940. After graduation, she married Charles “Red” McCue in 1943 in Pittsburgh, PA. They were happily married for 52 years. She enjoyed singing, tap dancing (a hobby learned in her late 60s), cooking, sewing, cross stich, and reading. She had many creative skills and talents. She also loved and raised all types of dogs.

Dorothy worked many different positions while waiting to have children and assisting the family but one of her favorite work experiences was being supervisor for a TLRA office in Houston, Texas. She loved working with her office team and providing solutions and services to their customers. She had many successful and fulfilling years there using her organizational and managerial expertise, along with a strong work ethic. After retirement from TLRA, she and Red retired in Hot Spring Village, Ark. There she found much enjoyment in serving the local church, Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ. She served first as volunteer and then as secretary. She was heavily involved in the music department, using her singing talent and soloist abilities to assist with worship, celebrate special occasions such as weddings, anniversaries, funerals, women’s events and other gatherings. She loved Hots Springs Village, Sacred Heart and the people they fellowshipped with there. The time there was the highlight of both she and Red’s lives.

Dorothy is survived by her two children: Tim McCue of Hot Springs, Ark, Megan (Russell) of Murphy, Tx; 5 grandchildren: Ben, Shannon (Paul), David, Natalie, and Annaliese; 2 great grandchildren: Maverick and Wyatt, and many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by husband, Red and her brother, Joseph William Dopp of Pittsburgh, PA.
