Anna Redd

Anna Marcella Redd, a resident of Hot Springs Village since 2008, passed away on March 23, 2020, at
the age of 94.
Marcella was born on March 4, 1926, in Fieldon, IL. She married John Thomas Redd on June 16, 1948
at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Grafton, IL. They had shared 59 years of marriage at the time of John's
death in 2008. Marcella is also preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Doris Sibley; and brothers,
Laverne Dunham and Robert Rosenthal.
Survivors include only child Donna Blasing and her husband Rich, of Hot Springs Village; brother-in-
law, Vincent Sibley, of Jerseyville, IL; and nieces and nephews.
Grandma's loving touch will be greatly missed by Shelly (Blasing) McCaskill, her husband Jim, and their
children Caleb and Hannah, of Richmond, VA; and by Kimberly Blasing, of Raleigh, NC.
Marcella was loved and appreciated for her kind and gentle spirit. A woman who loved The Lord;
treasured her family; enjoyed music; the beauty of nature; and classic TV westerns.
At a later date, a celebration of Marcella's life will take place at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, in Godfrey,
IL, the hometown church where she and her beloved Johnny worshiped during their married life.
The family wishes to share their gratitude to those individuals who compassionately assisted with
Marcella's care, particularly during her final days. Appreciation also goes to Marcella's Mountainside
