Carl Clinton Creger

Carl Clinton Creger of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2025, after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. 

Carl is survived by his wife of 43 years, Lesley Burden Creger, his children Christy Jackson (Stuart) and Carlton Creger (Jeanelle), his stepchildren Matthew Haynes (Brandon), Simon Haynes (Karyn), and Gail McGaughy (Shayne); his ten grandchildren Emily, Emma, Max, Gabe, Nicholas, Kate, Alek, David, Kortney, and Connor.

He is predeceased by his parents, Ralph Creger and Barbara Richey, and his brother Jerry Creger. 

Carl was born on January 5, 1943, in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Ralph and Barbara Creger. His father was a dispatcher for the Rock Island Railroad and was sent to Little Rock, Arkansas to live. Carl attended Little Rock Central High during the Desegregation Crisis and graduated in 1961. He then attended Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas graduating with a degree in Business and Economics in 1965. He spent 40 years in Insurance Accounting in Arkansas, Pennsylvania, and Illinois attaining the FLMI and CLU designations and winning two National Merit Awards. Carl was an active member of the Rotary Club in Rock Island, Illinois, sponsoring four Paul Harris Fellowships and serving as a Board Member. He retired from the insurance business in 2006 and began his second career as a successful eBay broker. Carl and Lesley retired to Hot Springs Village in 2013 where Carl remained until his death. 

Carl’s family wishes to express sincere gratitude to the army of caregivers who supported and cared for Carl throughout his Parkinson’s journey. Special thanks go to Linda Lane for her friendship and care and to the incredible staff of the House of Three in Hot Springs, Arkansas. 

Memorial service has been RESCHEDULED to February 1st, 2025, 2pm at Cedar Vale Funeral Home in Hot Springs Village.
