Dallas T Young

Dallas T. Young, age 101, of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, died Thursday, July 22, 2021 at home at Mt Carmel Community at Hot Springs Village.  He was born January 11, 1920, in Flint, Michigan.  He was retired from General Motors where he worked for 34 years as an accountant.  He was preceded in death by his father, Robert J. and his mother Bessie Young, a sister, Muriel Young, and a sister-in-law, Joyce Young. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Nan P. Young of Hot Springs Village, two sons, Robert J.Young and Gregory D. and wife Ann Marie Young all of Fenton, Michigan, three stepchildren, Tanya and husband Bill Bray of Hot Springs Village, Fred and wife Cherese Timmer of Olympia, Washington, and Amy Timmer and her husband Mark Meservey of Okemos, Michigan; a brother, Frank E. Young of Grand Blanc, Michigan; two grandchildren, Christopher J. Rowland and wife Allison, and Angela Marie Young and husband Clifford; and a great grandchild, Archer J. Rowland. Dallas was an avid golfer from the age of 20 to well into his 90's.  He was associate director of the PGA tournament The Buick Open for several years at Warwick Hills Country Club in Grand Blanc, Michigan.  Dallas and Nan retired to Hot Springs Village in 1983 and loved playing golf and living on Lake Cortez.  As a dedicated wood worker Dallas made many beautiful pieces for family and friends and dozens of toys for the Red Cross fundraisers. The family wants to offer special thanks to Mt. Carmel Community at Hot Springs Village, Dallas' second home since 2014, and Arkansas Hospice, for their loving care of Dallas. A celebration of Dallas' life will be announced at a later date.  In honor of Mr. Young, donations may be made to the American Red Cross or any other charities of choice.  Arrangements are by Cedarvale Funeral Home of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas.  Online condolences can be made at www.cedarvalefuneralhome.com.
