On April 14, 2022, Danny O’Neal Snyder, of Hot Springs Village, husband and father; navy veteran, passed away after a brief illness. He is preceded in death by his mother and father Maudie Snyder, Fermon Snyder; sisters Lois Henry and Dolly McCorkle; and brothers Mack Snyder and Billy Snyder.
Danny leaves behind his wife of fifty-eight years, Sandra; sister Betty Steiger; daughter Jenny Cress (Brad) of Prescott, Arizona; son Stephen Snyder (Lisa) of Statesboro, Georgia; grandchildren Laura Catherine “Kitty” and Rhys of NW Arkansas; Candi Roseberry (Josh) of Youngsville, Louisiana; Austin (Lindsey), Braden, and Clayton of Statesboro, Georgia; great-grandchildren Addison(Youngsville, LA), Brett, and Grant (Statesboro, GA); and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Danny was a 1959 graduate of T.J. Rainey High School in Little Rock, Arkansas. He enlisted in the Navy and served aboard the aircraft carrier, U.S.S. Ticonderoga at the beginning of the Vietnam War. After leaving the service, Danny was part of the first group of computer software developers in the state. From his initial employment at the “Med Center” (UAMS) using keypunch cards in the early 1960s to his design and programming systems for business applications, Danny thoroughly enjoyed the field of computer programming and software design. He retired from Tyson Foods in 1993 as Vice President of Management Information Systems (MIS). Danny’s work life is a perfect example of the American Dream…if you have determination, drive, and a strong work ethic; the sky is the limit on what you can accomplish.
Danny and Sandra then moved to Hot Springs Village to be close to their aging parents. Danny enjoyed fishing and golf. He had many great times with his golfing buddies.
Family and friends remember Danny for his conservative values, sense of humor, and support for the Arkansas Razorbacks and Oaklawn Thoroughbred Racing.
Danny lives on in the hearts of his family. They appreciate the love and support of their many friends during this time.
