Dick W Bauer

Dick William Bauer age 91, passed peacefully at Quapaw Care and Rehabilitation Center in Hot Springs, Arkansas on June 25, 2020. He was born to Rudolph M. and Clarissa Alberta Bauer on October 3, 1928, in South Bend, Indiana.
Dick joined the Merchant Marines at age 17 where he attended Steam Engine School and later became a Tool & Die Maker, and at one time owning his own machine shop.
He was an avid fisherman, loved hunting and most of all boating. He lived near or on Michigan’s Great Lakes most of his adult life. Dick loved telling stories about his many adventures.
Dick is survived by his children: Sandra K. Fields and Susan M. Spaulding and Step-Children Michael Gleason (Kathleen), Ken Gleason, June (Tom) Oswalt, and Gordon (Cathy) Gleason.
He was preceded by his wife of 50 years, Barbara Jane Bauer, and his daughter Carol Ann Bauer. He leaves behind 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild.
Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and private family services will commence at a later date
