Garry Lee Berry

Garry L. Berry,79, of Hot Springs Village passed away Sunday, July 14, 2019. Garry was born March 25, 1940 to Edwin Berry and Frieda McMillin in Mchenry County, Illinois. Garry served 6 years in the United States Army. He then worked for Chrysler for 30+ years, a member of Christ of the Hills Church and also a member of American Legion and evening lions. Garry is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Jesse Berry and Rollin Berry, 4 Sisters, Virginia Berry, Alice Grabbert, Rosalie Recker, and Darlene Rathman, and One Granddaughter, Melanie Finke. Garry is survived by his Spouse, Elva Berry; Children, Laurie Becknell (Jeff), Juan Zapata, Ellen Mikula (Phil), and Miguel Zapata; 2 Sisters, Pauline Genskow ( Earl) and Patricia Johnson (Richard); 1 Brother, Jon Berry (Janet); grandchildren, Mary Tesinsky, John Mikula, Carolyn Taunis, Jordan Becknell, Alysia Zapata, Miguel Zapata, Mariah Zapata, and Elijah Follis; and 3 great grandchildren, Brynn, Emree, and Kane Taunis. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 18, 2019 at 1:00pm with services following at 2:00pm at the Christ of the Hills Church in the Hot Springs Village, Interment will be at CedarVale Cemetery after services. A Celebration of Life get together will be held in Illinois at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to CedarVale Funeral Home of Hot Springs Village.
