James C. Mcdermott

Beloved husband, father, and grandfather, James Christopher McDermott was called to his eternal home on Thursday, June 27, 2019. Born on October 21, 1946 to Edward and Mary McDermott in Chicago, Illinois. Jim spent his entire life in the Chicago area until he retired to Hot Springs Village, Arkansas in 2008. From 1966 to 1971 he served in the Army National Guard of Illinois and as a Reserve of the Army. Jim was also a committed volunteer fireman in his hometown of Westmont, Illinois for many years. He was an avid Chicago Cubs Fan and his wish of a World Series win came true in 2016. Jim is survived by his loving wife of six years Nancy Fair McDermott, his daughter Kelli Caudill (Glen), his granddaughter Dylan Caudill, his step-children Glenda Proctor (Matt), Tim Fair (Renee), Roger Fair and Kevin Fair (Jalen). A mass will be held at Sacred Heart of Jesus, 295 Balearic Rd, Hot Springs Village, Arkansas at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 5. A reception will be announced.
