Keith Hammond Brown of Hot Springs Village passed away on July 24, 2021. He was born on October 31, 1925, in Chicago, IL, to Harold Sunderlin Brown and Lucille Hammond Brown. He grew up in Wheaton, IL, and was active in Boy Scouts, athletics, and school activities. He graduated from Wheaton High School in 1943. He was selected for the Navy V-12 program at the University of Wisconsin, and graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering as an Ensign in the Navy in 1946. He worked briefly for Shell Oil and the Kohler Company before joining Mobil Oil in 1954 where he worked in various capacities and locations for 30 years. After retiring, he and his wife, Jean, now deceased, moved to Hot Springs Village in 1984. In retirement, he was an avid golfer and active volunteer in the community, serving as President of the POA and the Kiwanis Club. Keith was married to Jean for 66 years until her death, and was preceded in death by his brothers: Ralph Brown, of River Forest, IL, and Richard Brown, of St. Louis, MO. He is survived by his five children: Kevin Brown, of Denver, CO; Craig Brown, of Franklinton, NC, Nancy Kenney (Joe Stuart) of Galena, IL; Martha Funsten (Landon) of Raleigh, NC; Marji Geuther (Jeff) of Houston, TX; and eight grandchildren, Rob Davies and Erin Kenney; Lanny (Finley), Melissa and Jennifer Funsten; Meagan Chauvin (Matt), Steven Geuther (Katie), and Shannon Annestrand (Eric); and 5 great grandchildren, EJ and Madeline Chauvin, Greer Geuther, Fiona Funsten, and James Annestrand. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Memorials may be sent to the University of Wisconsin, Box 78236, Milwaukee, WI 53278; or to Presbyterian Kirk in the Pines Church, 275 Asturias Drive, Hot Springs Village, AR 71909. The service will be held at Presbyterian Kirk in the Pines on Saturday, August 21 at 1:00 in the memorial garden.
