Lazaro "Larry" Andrade Cruz

Lazaro "Larry" Andrade Cruz, born on July 30, 1935, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 18, 2025, in Hot Springs, Arkansas

. Larry began his career at St. Therese Hospital in 1958 before joining Abbott Laboratories in 1960. Over the course of 35 years, he held numerous positions at Abbott until his retirement in 1995.

 He is lovingly remembered by his three sons, Richard (Nita) Cruz, Daniel Cruz, and Joseph (Colleen) Cruz; two daughters, Mary Gold and Theresa (John) Henson; three brothers, Paul Cruz, Raymond (Karen) Cruz, and Manuel (Janet) Cruz; one sister, Jessie Petrovic; as well as 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren

Larry was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, Carol C. Cruz, in 2023; his son William James Cruz in 1982; and several brothers and sisters.

Larry had a passion for working with his hands. He enjoyed projects as a residential electrician, remodeling rooms, and refurbishing his cherished 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air. A skilled bowler and lifelong Chicago Cubs fan, Larry found joy in both competition and camaraderie. A devout Catholic, Larry was deeply committed to his faith. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and achieved the rank of Fourth Degree Knight during his years of service.

 Larry’s legacy of hard work, devotion to family, and unwavering faith will be remembered by all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him.
