Linda Ann Berry

Linda Ann Dervin Berry, 80, of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2023 in Hot Springs. She was born June 4, 1943 in Milfay, Oklahoma, to the late Jim and Mabel (Gamble) Dervin. She is preceded in death by both of her parents, brothers: Lee Dervin and Nolan Dervin, and sister: Loma Dervin.

Linda is survived by her husband of 61 years Clyde Berry, daughters Andrea Berry-Brightwell and husband Paul of greenbrier, Arkansas and Molly Upton and husband Brian of Overland Park, Kansas, grandchildren, Jenna Brightwell Koone and husband Owen of Greenbrier, Arkansas and Landon Brightwell and wife Taylor of Perryville, Arkansas, great grandchildren: Jansen Paul Koon, Shelby Koon and Allie Koon, sister: Hazel McGuire of Sapulpa, Oklahoma and brother: Jimmy Dervin of Stroud, Oklahoma.

Linda was a 1961 graduate of Stroud High School in Oklahoma. She was a decorated scholar and athlete, winning the 1959 Oklahoma State High School Speech Tournament and 1981 Arkansas state bowling tournament. 

Linda loved to travel, was an avid golfer as part of the Women's Golf Association, and sport enthusiast-cheering on the Chief and Broncos.

From the time Linda was one year of age, she and her five older siblings were raised by her single mom in near abject poverty. From this humble beginning, her tenacity and innate abilities made her the mom who would always know what to do in any situation, and a highly valued employee. Her honesty, self-assurance and warm outgoing personality brought her hundreds of long term friendships in the 6 states and 11 cities in which she has lived.

Memorial service to celebrate Linda’s life will be held Tuesday, December 19, 2023, 2:00 pm at Village Church of Christ 210 Balboa Road Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. Arrangements were made under the direction of CedarVale Funeral Home. Guest register at cedarvalefuneralhome.com.
