Lois Loraine Hunter, 99, of Hot Springs Village (HSV), Arkansas, was born November 1, 1922, in Lompoc, California, and passed away March 29, 2022, in HSV.
She married Champ Wagner Hunter in 1941. They lived in Riverside, CA most of their married life. She was a majorette in the Rose Parade twice.
Her husband was a Tech Sergeant in the Army Air Force in WWII as a radioman. He was a MIA/POW for two years in Germany. Lois worked in a defense plant to help “get the boys home.” She still had a scar on her arm from her work there. She was a mother to a one-year-old at the time.
Lois was an amazing home-maker as well as a waitress and later working in retail.
She was a long-time member at Balboa Baptist Church in HSV. She loved Jesus and longed to go to heaven. Her family takes great comfort that she’s with her Lord. Lois was a selfless wife, mother, grandmother (Mema), and great-grandmother. She was nurturing and kind. She’s already greatly missed and her legacy will never be forgotten. Lois was proceeded in death by her parents, Leroy and Virginia Daman, her husband Champ, her sister Bernice Netzley, and nephew Gary Netzley.
She is survived by her son Michael Hunter (Mitzi) Hot Springs Village AR. Granddaughter: Joy Edwinson (Ben), and great-grandsons; Hunter (14), Cale (12), and Brooks (10) Edwinson of Olathe Kansas. Nieces: Tana (Jim) Wildman, Sherry (Michael) Mann, and Deborah Farr of Broken Arrow, OK.
Lois will be buried at Cedar Vale Cemetery in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas.
