Marcia A. Hayes

Marcia A. Hayes, 83, of Hot Springs Village Arkansas passed away on Monday, December 16th, 2024.

Marcia was born on Jan 21, 1941 in Davenport Iowa. Henry and Margaret (Harrison) Wollenburg. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandma and friend. Marcia and her husband Russ spent much of their adult life living in St. Paul, MN. She worked for many years at Dayton’s, and much enjoyed her time there. That was reflected in her record-breaking (and award winning) years of service when she retired. 

Her greatest passion was her family. She made every occasion and celebration fun –and for everyone in the family she made Christmas legendary. She truly loved Christmas, and never failed to make it an amazing day for everyone – kids and grandkids especially! She always loved spending time with her family – so many shopping trips!, family dinners, and birthday celebrations! And She really loved watching the grandkids over the years in all kinds of events – sports in all seasons, marching band, concert band and choir, dance, and more. She was always there with a smile, cheering them on. 

Marica will be greatly missed by her husband of 62 years Russ Hayes. They enjoyed many wonderful adventures and trips together over the years. From Mexico to the Carolinas, the gulf coast of Mississippi and Alabama, Las Vegas, Florida, and many other destinations around the country. In later years they really loved an annual winter trip with the whole family to Anna Maria Island Florida, which became a very special place to her. During these many travels they discovered Hot Springs Village Arkansas, and ultimately moved there full-time for their retirement years, where they have loved their active life and their many great friends.

Marcia was preceeded in death by her parents Henry and Margaret Wollenberg. She is survived by her husband Russell Hayes, daughters Cindy Boden (Dave) of Woodbury, MN, and Patti Mohrland (Rich) of Rosemount MN. Also survived by grandchildren Tom Boden (Kaitlyn), Katie Boden , and Lindsey Day (Tommy).
