Mark Alan Hamilton, 73, born on Thursday, June 7, 1951, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Mark was the son of Buell Hamilton and Pearl (Richt) Hamilton. Throughout his life, he embraced challenges with a positive and intellectual attitude. He spent a rewarding career as an Electrical Engineer with OG&E, contributing significantly to his field while also nurturing a profound passion for service.

Mark was a devoted father, leaving behind two children. His son, Roger Hamilton, resides in Yukon, Oklahoma, with his wife Anna Hamilton. His daughter, Amy Hamilton, makes her home in Las Vegas, Nevada, alongside her husband Muneel Zaidi. As a father figure to Mike Hubbs, whom he raised and loved as a son, learning sign language and opening his home to a child in need. He thoroughly cherished his role as a grandfather to Lucas, Lizzy, and Emily Hamilton, sharing with them the joys of life and fostering their growth. Mark & Toby were married for 45 years before divorcing and remaining friends. Toby supported him throughout his cancer journey.

An active member of the Unitarian Universalist Village Church, Mark was known for his engaging spirit and kind-hearted nature. His generosity was matched only by his fondness for humor—he was quick with a pun or joke, leaving those around him with smiles on their faces. He relished the company of fellow members of the Casa de Carta Bridge Club, embodying the camaraderie and joy of shared interests.

Mark was an avid listener of audiobooks and had a particular affinity for witty mysteries, reflecting his love for storytelling and intrigue. He was also known as a great dancer, bringing joy and energy to any gathering.

In addition to his human family, Mark was a beloved dad to numerous kitties and three wonderful dogs, who provided him with companionship and joy. His love for animals mirrored his caring nature, as he extended his kindness to everyone he met.

The family extends special thanks to all the doctors, nurses, and staff at UAMS, who cared for him since 2016, offering support and compassion during his journey.
