Martha Blaine

Beloved mother, wife and grandmother, Mrs. Martha Myracle Blaine, 89, of Hot Springs Village, passed away with her family by her side on Wednesday, May 24, 2023.

Born May 21, 1934 in Huron, Tennessee to the late Alton and Nellie Myracle, Martha was the sixth and last surviving of seven children. She was preceded in death by her siblings Junior Myracle, Buck Myracle, Jenell Thomas, Louise Normand, Jewell Harris, and Jean Gross.

Martha graduated from Lexington High School in Lexington, Tennessee in 1952. She worked for the telephone company until she met Edward Blaine. They were married in 1964. Ed opened a dental practice, and Martha became his office manager. They lived in Memphis, Tennessee until they moved to Hot Springs Village in 1992.

Martha was an avid tennis player when she lived in Memphis. After moving to the Village, she played duplicate bridge and competed locally and out of state.

Martha lost her beloved husband, Dr. Edward Blaine, on July 15, 2022.

Martha is survived by her daughter Julie (Matt) Waugh of Smyrna, TN; stepson William (Tina) Blaine of Arlington, TX; grandchildren Parker Waugh of Smyrna, TN, Stefanie Blaine, Caitlin Blaine, Kelly Keigley all of Arlington, TX; and one great-grandchild, Dean Jones of Arlington, TX.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Home Instead for the loving kindness shown to Martha while she was in their care.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 17, 2023, at 2:00 pm in the Chapel at CedarVale Funeral Home in Hot Springs Village.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
