Mary Frances Duffy, 74, passed away November11, 2021. Mary was born in North Tonawanda, New York to the late Raymond and Theresa Fleury Burgess.
With a servant’s heart, putting the needs of others ahead of her own, Mary spent her life lifting children and animals up in love. Retiring from Redfield Junior High after more than forty years as a public school teacher, Mary volunteered time to first graders at Mountain Pine and many animals in need at the Hot Springs Village Animal Welfare League.
In November of 1970, Mary married Peter Duffy. Together they shared more than 51 years of faith, friendship, and family. Mary will be missed most by her husband, Peter; children Laura Duffy Nelson (Keith) and Christopher Raymond Duffy (Karen); granddaughters Natalie Nelson, Claire Nelson, Carolyn Duffy, and Katherine Duffy; brothers Michael and Terry Burgess; sister, Karen Thomas; mother-in-law, Marion Duffy; best dog, Molly; and church family at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Hot Springs Village.
A Rosary will be held at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 295 Balearic Rd, Hot Springs Village, Arkansas 71909 at 10:30am Monday, November 15, 2021 with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11am.
A reception will follow at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorials be made to the Hot Springs Village Animal Welfare League, 195 Cloaca Lane, Hot Springs Village, Arkansas 71909.
