Peter Herbert Duffy, 75, passed away July 11, 2022. Peter was born in Wellsville, New York to Basil and Marion Duffy.
Peter was a dedicated researcher at Argonne National Lab and later with the FDA's National Center for Toxicological Research (NCTR). He was published in scientific journals and held several patents for devices he created to work with lab animals. Peter retired from the Federal Government after over 27 years of service.
An avid fisherman and hunter, Peter donated so much deer meat to the Salvation Army that he was given an award. He was also a skilled woodworker who crafted toys for his children and grandchildren.
In November of 1970, Peter married Mary Frances Burgess. Together they shared more than 51 years of faith, friendship, and family. Mary passed away on November 11, 2021. Peter was also preceded in death by his father.
Peter will be missed most by his children Laura Duffy Nelson (Keith) and Christopher Raymond Duffy (Karen); granddaughters Natalie Nelson, Claire Nelson, Carolyn Duffy, and Katherine Duffy; mother, Marion Duffy; brothers David (Janet) and Dean (Jessie) Duffy; brother-in laws Michael and Terry Burgess; sister-in -law, Karen Thomas; best dog, Molly; and church family at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Hot Springs Village.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorials be made to the Hot Springs Village Animal Welfare League, 195 Cloaca Lane, Hot Springs Village, Arkansas 71909.
