Phyllis Kay Fahrlander

Phyllis Kay Fahrlander, born on November 16, 1942, in the vibrant city of Hamilton, Ohio, gracefully departed this world on December 22, 2024, in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. A cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and a devoted professional, Phyllis leaves behind a legacy marked by compassion, artistry, and steadfast dedication to her community.

With a career that spanned various fields, Phyllis began her professional journey as a registered nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1963. This foundational experience underscored her lifelong commitment to caring for others, and her nurturing spirit continued to shine through her subsequent roles. Between 1980 and 1987, she served as a teachers aide at the Phoenix Public School System, where her impact on the lives of her students was immeasurable. Later, she took on the role of scheduling manager at St. Louise Regional Hospital, further contributing to the well-being of her community.

An accomplished artist, Phyllis found joy and solace in oil painting between 1983 and 1987. Her talent was complemented by her fervor for embroidery, particularly during her three-year engagement with the Embroiderers Guild of America. Each stitch and brushstroke reflected her creativity and passion, instilling beauty into the lives of those who encountered her work.

Phyllis's loving family includes her devoted husband, Frank Charles Fahrlander, who stood faithfully by her side throughout their shared years. She is also survived by her three beloved children: Christopher Charles Fahrlander, residing in Phoenix, Arizona; William Allen Fahrlander, of Spring Valley, Wisconsin; and Susan Michelle Fahrlander, who graced Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, with her presence. Her legacy continues through her granddaughters, Morgan Nicole Fahrlander of Hudson, Wisconsin, and Madison Marie Fahrlander of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, who carry forward the warmth and creativity instilled in them by their beloved grandmother.

Sadly, Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, William Phillip and Mary Louise Smith, her brother, Edward Gary Smith, and her son, Jeffrey Michael Fahrlander. Their memories linger in the hearts of those who knew and loved her, reminding us of the ties that bind families across time.

A Celebration of Life honoring Phyllis Kay Fahrlander will take place at Cedar Vale Funeral Home in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, on January 24, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
