Velma Ruth Merritt

Velma Ruth Merritt, 84, of Hot Springs Village gained her wings on July 13, 2021. Velma was born December 14, 1936, to Lewis and Ruth Gowland in Lancaster, California.

Velma is preceded in death by her parents and husband, James Merritt. 

Velma is survived by her children, Kimberly Beasley of Hot Springs Village, Patrick J. Hunt of Palmdale, California. Grandchildren, Jennifer, Jesse, Felicia, Christopher, Travis, Troy, Sean, and Andrew and four great-grandchildren.

Velma worked for the POA as a security officer for fifteen years. Her and Jim also enjoyed riding their Harley’s.

In lieu of flowers or memorial service and to honor Velma, we ask that all who wish to participate make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association.
