Vicki Lynn Quillen

Vicki Lynn Quillen, aged 67, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 22, 2024, in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Born on Tuesday, November 20, 1956, in Lincoln, Nebraska, Vicki was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend.

Vicki's early life was nurtured by her loving parents, Glen and Arlene Davidson. She cherished her childhood in Syracuse, where she developed a vibrant personality and a deep appreciation for life’s simple joys. Vicki's life took a special turn when she met Chuck Quillen on a blind date arranged by college friends in the spring of 1976. Their connection blossomed into a beautiful marriage on August 13, 1977, which lasted 47 wonderful years. Together, they created a loving family and shared countless memories.

A devoted mother, Vicki found immense joy in raising her children, Mackenzie (Toby) Jeffers of Auburn, AL, Courtney Quillen of Lincoln, NC, and Whitney Quillen of Edmond, Ok. Her grandchildren—Megan, Madison, Presley, and Paxton Jeffers—held a special place in her heart, and she loved baking with them and spending time together. Vicki was known for her warm spirit, infectious laughter, and her penchant for finding humor in everyday situations.

Vicki had a passion for consignment shopping and garage sales, relishing the thrill of the hunt and the joy of finding treasures. Her musical tastes were diverse, with a love for the Bee Gees, Chicago, and Earth, Wind & Fire, often filling her home with their melodies. Her love for life shone through in all her interactions, and she treasured the phone calls with family and friends that kept her connected to those she loved.

Professionally, Vicki served as a Cathlab Assistant and was respected by her peers, of 35 years, for her dedication and work ethic. Throughout her life, she was an active member of the Cathedral of the Risen Christ in Lincoln, NE, and the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Hot Springs Village, AR, embodying a spirit of service and faith.

Vicki was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Arlene Davidson; her brother, Billy Davidson; her nephew, Jesse Beckwith; her granddaughter, Alex Jeffers; her brother-in-law, Buddy Kreifels; and her in-laws, Merlin and Patricia Quillen. She leaves behind her loving husband, Charles Quillen, along with her cherished children and grandchildren. Vicki is also survived by her siblings: Daniel Davidson of Omaha, NE, Christine Kreifels of Waunakee, WI, and Kurt (Maxine) Davidson of Syracuse, NE, as well as her sister-in-law, Debra (Charles) Beckwith of Albion, NE. In addition, she is survived by her nieces and nephews: Zebulon (Jodie) Kreifels, Alexis (Rick) Martin, Martin Kreifels, Sam Beckwith, Beau (Abby) Beckwith, and Bobbi (Tyson) Broekem.

A Mass service will be held to honor Vicki's life on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at the Cathedral of the Risen Christ in Lincoln, NE, beginning at 11:00AM.

The burial will be on Friday, September 6, 2024, at 2:30 PM at the Kimball Cemetery, Kimball NE.

Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
