Willilam G. Etten

William G. Etten, 97, formerly of Richmond, Illinois, passed away September 22, 2022 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Born in Volo, Illinois, he was the youngest child of the late William and Anna (Weingart) Etten. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine, and sons William D. Etten and David J. Etten.

William married Elaine Freund in 1951 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Spring Grove, Illinois.

A talented carpenter, William built many homes throughout McHenry County, including the homes for his children to reside. However it was the family he built of which he was the most proud. William is survived by daughter, Nancy (Howard) Emery of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; daughter-in-law, Kim Etten; grandchildren Howard (Dawn) Emery, Amanda (Maks) Derylo, Bailey (Vlad) Malerany, Bryce Etten, Brogan Etten, and Brock Etten; and nine great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 2118 Main Street, Spring Grove, Illinois 60081 is currently being arranged.

William will be laid to rest next to his beloved Elaine at the Christ the King Cemetery in Wonder Lake, Illinois.
